Choosing the Mystery

About My Approach

My approach to astrology is integral and holistic. There is no single piece to the puzzle. It is an ever-weaving and unweaving tapestry in, about, around, and through us. A natal chart based on birthplace and time is merely a snapshot (the first snapshot) of an individual’s life. Should we stop there, we only know how we are programmed, our default setting. To take such an approach would be to believe that nothing that happened afterward affected or changed us, that we learned nothing from our experiences and could not adapt, evolve, or advance.

We are a series of moments, a constant dance of cause and effect. We are a thousand thousand snapshots. Some have more impact than others, but none cease to leave a mark on us.

To practice astrology is to live consciously.

One must be aware of one’s own internal universe as much as the external; that of our immediate surroundings, and that far beyond them. One must be aware of their own actions and accountability. One must take into account what is inevitable (change) and what is choice. In every moment, we have our Choice.

We may choose at any time to allow things to happen to us. To blame fate or circumstance, to live passively.

We also may take the wisdom of the ancients into our own hands, adapt it to modern cultural, spiritual, and social climates, incorporate it with modern advancements in medicine, technology, and science, and use it to give ourselves insight into our own actions from an outside perspective and make better choices as we navigate through obstacles to our goals, and ease our stress by embracing the eternal truth of the constance of change.

Life is cyclical. What we sow, we reap. What we tend to flourishes, and what we do not withers.

Astrology, to me, has become a spiritual practice, much like meditation or yoga. We get better at reading it the more we practice. We also get better at overcoming the personal obstacles it uncovers and challenges, and it uplifts with practice.

For spiritual health, we must care for and tend our souls, guide and nurture them. When we wander through life on autopilot, unchanging in our thinking patterns or social behaviors, we neither improve ourselves nor our situation. We remain stagnant and unsatisfied.

The longer we are stagnant and dissatisfied, the more unrestful, bitter, angry, and jealous we become, and the more we project our flaws, judgments, and pain onto others, becoming spiritually diseased.

Conscious living corrects the path of deeper meaning and growth, expands our experience, and leads to a thriving, fulfilled life.

Yoga for the body. Meditation for the mind. Astrology for the soul.

Thank you for joining me on this journey as I share the wisdom my practice has gifted me.
