The North and South Nodes change signs approximately every 18 months. They make a full orbit and return to their original position in your natal chart every 18-19 years. 

The North Node helps us understand what we should be moving toward in our lives, and the South Node lets us know what we should be releasing. They can also hint at karma from other incarnations.  

It’s great to check in with where the nodes are pointing you next when they change signs or houses—especially if you missed the eclipse period that year. 

Recommended Ages for a Node Reading:

I strongly recommend a Node reading during each return (roughly ages 18-19, 36-37, 54-55, 72-73,…) These tend to indicate powerful shifts and realignments in your life and can indicate important relationships (romantic, platonic, or mentorship) joining your path. 

I also find them useful to check in with when they shift signs every 18 months.
